About Venice
Founded in 1905 as a seaside resort, the artsy and eclectic beach town of Venice, California has earned the label of "a cultural hub known for its eccentricities." This global tourist destination is located on the environs of Los Angeles known as the Westside. Famous for its beautiful beaches and the carnival-like atmosphere of its Ocean Front Walk, Venice is a pedestrian promenade two-and-a-half mile strip that is home to numerous vendors, performers, mystics, and many assorted attractions. Its canals, designed to replicate Venice, Italy, are home to one of southern California’s most interesting neighborhoods.
Beloved for its eclectic atmosphere that imbues life with the zesty spark of art, creating an almost surreal experience that relaxes and delights, Venice also is home to the well-known Muscle Beach outdoor gym, where, if you do not wish to work out, you can engage in intense people-watching. With so many dining and entertainment experiences, Venice attracts millions of visitors year-round, and it is a great place to live if you crave a laid-back, bohemian lifestyle. Each neighborhood in Venice has its own unique character, rather like a miniature community within Venice.
